Learning Aim:

to prepare highly qualified Professional Bachelors of Telecommunications Engineering who are able to design telecommunication networks, select and monitor telecommunication systems and their equipment, model a network for providing services and technologies for downloading voice, video, data, required by customers, are able to efficiently install and operate sophisticated telecommunication equipment, detect and remove system and equipment faults, set up their own business.

Acquired Skills:
graduates will be able to:

  • to model service providing network and technologies for transmitting voice, image, data tailored to customer’s needs;
  • to select required equipment and design projects, analyse, specify and implement designed projects;
  • to observe and manage activities of telecommunication company, manage projects;
  • to organize business company’s work;
  • to use technical literature, standards, databases, applications programs.
Learning Outcomes:

  • be able to evaluate customers’ needs and development trends;
  • develop the project for a technical solution;
  • develop economic feasibility of the project;
  • define implementation properties of telecommunication network projects;
  • explain structure of telecommunication networks and systems; to explain functions and interactions of individual parts of the network;
  • perform installation, assembling, adjustment and measurement work of telecommunication equipment;
  • be able to analyze procedures of data stream transmission, management, processing and switching;
  • identify and eliminate faults of telecommunication networks;
  • be able to perform qualitative and quantitative metrological measurements and evaluate quality of connectivity;
  • evaluate business environment;
  • carry out market research;
  • organize the activities of a company (department);
  • communicate orally and in written in good Lithuanian language and at least one of foreign languages;
  • be able to professionally articulate and justify arguments based on market conditions, social, scientific, ethics aspects;
  • be able to work in a team;
  • use legal and standard documents; computer programs;
  • be able to study on his/her own.
