On 23rd – 24th March International Electronic Contest “EIFtronic 2017” took place at the faculty. The contest “EIFtronic 2017”, which aims to promote interest in electronics, gathered together 6 teams from Latvia, Poland and Lithuania higher education institutions: State School of Higher Vocational Education in Ciechanów, Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences, Lomza State University of Applied Sciences, Panevėžys College, Ventspils University College and Vilniaus kolegija/University of Applied Sciences.

The participants had to take theoretical test composed of questions on Physics, Electronics, Analogue and Digital Devices, Signals and Circuits, Electronic Measurements. The most successful was Peteris Bitans from Ventspils University College.

Later team members had to perform individual practical tasks. Assembling of electronic circuit and measurement task winner became Ignas Griciūnas from Panevėžys College, Assembling and controlling an electronic circuit with Arduino UNO task winner was announced Kamil Maruszevski from State School of Higher Vocational Education in Ciechanów and Vilniaus kolegija/UAS student Ernest Jevič became Assembling an electronic device task winner.

The winning team became Ventspils University College team, the 2nd place winning team – Vilniaus kolegija/UAS team and the 3rd place went to State School of Higher Vocational Education in Ciechanów team.

Both individual task winners and winning teams were awarded prizes of the sponsors UAB “Dielektrik” and UAB “Esemda”. JSC Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre invited the participants to visit data centre and radio and television broadcast transmission premises, as well as an exhibition to commemorate the victims of January 13th and to enjoy a wonderful view of the entire of Vilnius in the “Paukščių takas“ restaurant.
